2. LAKE BOSOMTWE
Located at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, is a lake formed by an ancient meteorite . The name simply means Antelope God because it said to be discovered by a hunter chasing an antelope that disappeared into the lake, it was trying to save the animal. The lake is half an hour drive from Kumasi.
It is possible to take boat ride on the lake, swim and hike around but seen as a taboo to use a regular dugout canoe or for metal or iron to touch the surface of the lake (i.e morden boats). Because of this a very different type of boat is used by the fishermen in the lake ,it’s a large plank of wood sit on top and use their or plates in their hands to propel themselves.
